The SFMOMA, (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) is a modern art museum located in San Francisco. It holds an internationally recognized collection of modern and contemporary art. When I visited SFMOMA with my Creative Studies class, which is a mix of both English and Art classes, I viewed many unique and interesting pieces of art. In one of the room with pop art, we were given papers and were told to write down words that we thought could be in pop art. I didn't really understand the point and it wasn't that fun and they made us carry the papers with us the rest of the time which I found very annoying. While we were walking through one of the rooms my friends and I noticed a police man standing against the wall and I made a joke to one of them to be careful if they stole anything and to use one of the windows to get away. Later on, when we were walking back, we walked past the police man and our tour guide showed us that it was really just a wax manikin. One of the art pieces that I really liked was of a bunch of metal sticks put in position so that if viewed from the right angle, you could see the figure of a person in it. In the same room, there was a circle of rocks on the floor and one of the members of our tour was blindfolded and everyone else had to try to tell him what the circle was made of but we couldn't say the word rock or stone or anything. I think that this was to have us think of different ways to say the same thing and come up with descriptive words. Overall, this was a fun experience and I recommend SFMOMA.
