During the field trip to di Rosa, I saw many unique, interesting pieces of art. One of the first things that we saw when we walked in was a circular room with an interactive art piece in the center and another fascinating one near the back. The one in the middle was a circular platform that you pressed down and it caused the fog from the fog machine underneath it to create fog rings that went all the way to the roof. In the next area of the room there were paintings and a few sculptures but I think the most interesting was a plate with eyes on it. After observing the art in the first room for a while we took a jitney up to another area of the property. In this area there was a house and a stone building that had used to be an old barn. There were sculptures all around the yard and peacocks in front of the house. Inside the stone building were many different interesting sculptures and paintings and pictures and just a very large variety of art. Behind the stone building was a large tree from which a car was hanging. The tour guide told us that this was one of Rene di Rosa's two art pieces in the collection. It was his wife's old car that he had his friend gut and hang because "cars have killed so many of us, it's only right that we kill one of them." After looking at the art outside, we went back inside and watched a twelve hour video condensed into a twelve minute long looping video of stained glass windows from dusk to dawn. Overall this was one of the most interesting field trips that I've been on and I recommend going to the di Rosa Preserve.
